Find Lewis County Court Dates

Start with the right court, then the right calendar. The Lewis County court schedule splits its dates among Superior Court, District Court, and the city municipal courts, so your Lewis County court date depends on which one holds the case. The clerk of that court keeps the authoritative calendar. Several lookup tools exist for each level, including online hearing searches, daily docket sheets, date tools, clerk counters, and phone lines. One caution applies everywhere. A hearing entry can shift after an index refresh, so a fresh court notice or order, confirmed with the court itself, always beats an older listing.

How the Lewis County Court Calendar Works

No single countywide list holds every date. For public Superior Court settings, Odyssey Search Hearings is the tool. District and municipal dates live in re:SearchWA or Find My Court Date instead. The Prosecutor calendar archive adds dated felony and District docket PDFs.

Every source does one thing well. Odyssey filters by location, hearing type, search term, officer, courtroom, and date range. A daily PDF lays out one day's docket call. The Superior weekly schedule sketches a normal rotation. Civil, criminal, family, probate, and treatment calendars each get their blocks. Treat these as planning aids. Neither a routine weekly slot nor a stale PDF outranks a later case order setting the actual hearing.

Lewis County Superior Hearing Filters

Superior Court's search starts with the basics. It asks for a location, hearing type, search type, and date range first. From there, a Lewis County lookup can run on a case number, a party or business name, an attorney, a judicial officer, or a courtroom. Civil, criminal, family, and probate or mental-health hearings sit behind separate choices. The official Search Hearings screen shows all these controls.

Searching a common name can flood you with unrelated settings. A full case number paired with a tight date range is usually the surest way to reach the next Lewis County Superior Court hearing.

Lewis County Court Date Lookups

Check the court level printed on your citation, summons, hearing notice, or most recent order before anything else. That one detail routes you to the right Lewis County court-date tool every time.

  1. Read the newest court paper and note the exact court, cause or citation number, and stated date.
  2. For Superior Court, search Odyssey Hearings and open the Register of Actions or Hearings view.
  3. For District or municipal court, use Find My Court Date with the exact venue, first name, and last name.
  4. Compare a felony or District setting with the latest daily docket PDF when one exists.
  5. Call Superior Court Administration at 360-740-1333 ext. 2 or 3, District Court at 360-740-1203, or the named city court if dates conflict.
  6. Visit the Clerk counter on the second floor or District counter on the third floor at 345 W Main when online records do not settle the question.

An attorney or court coordinator may already hold the newest scheduling order. Courthouse postings help on the day of court. They just should not be your first stop.

Lewis County Real-Time Court Dates

For Lewis District Court and the municipal courts, Find My Court Date is the live option. It queries the same transactional database court staff use. The statewide Case Search is slower. Its help text says it refreshes once daily at 3:00 a.m., so a same-day change may not appear there yet. When timing matters, use the live tool. The official date-search source displays the name fields and court selector.

Pick the court your paperwork names: Lewis District, Centralia, Chehalis, Napavine, or Winlock. Morton, Mossyrock, Pe Ell, Toledo, and Vader follow assigned or violations-bureau routes instead. The court named on the current document controls.

Note: Peak use from 7:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m. can slow the state date-search response.

Court Settings: What Each Field Means

A setting line is only a scheduled event. It proves nothing about outcome. Read the whole row, and if the result matters, open the case history behind it.

DateThe scheduled day; use the newest order or hearing entry if dates differ.
TimeThe docket-call or individual start time, including an amended time in comments.
CourtroomThe assigned department, room, or authorized remote channel.
JudgeThe listed judicial officer, which can change under department rotation.
Setting typeThe purpose, such as omnibus, trial confirmation, civil docket, or guardianship docket.

A hearing result is not the same as a disposition. Only a later event or a signed order tells you whether a claim, charge, or motion was actually resolved.

Lewis County Weekly Docket Pattern

Superior Court's official schedule assigns recurring blocks to each day. Monday holds special sets and trials, plus Drug Court in Department 1 at 3 p.m. Tuesday brings juvenile, settlement, ex parte, and guardianship work. Wednesday covers special criminal settings. Thursday's criminal docket fills much of the court day, with preliminary appearances later.

Friday starts with an 8:30 a.m. trial-assignment and arbitration calendar, then a 9:30 a.m. civil docket, 11 a.m. guardianships, criminal special sets, and adoptions. Remember, these are planning patterns. The filed notice is the case-specific source. Judge-specific motions may require scheduling through Court Administration under local rules.

Omnibus
A criminal pretrial setting that can precede review or trial confirmation.
Trial confirmation
A readiness check, not the trial result.
Trial Assign/Arb
The Friday administration calendar for trial assignment and arbitration.
Prelims
Early felony appearances addressing custody, probable cause, bail, or release.

When a Lewis County Court Date Moves

A continuance creates a new future setting. The old date can linger in event history. A quick Lewis County search may look contradictory. Daily dockets carry comments like "Moved to 8:40," "s/o to" a new date, "To Be Appointed," and "To Retain." Those are calendar notes. They are not disposition codes.

Trace the newest dated Hearing entry in Odyssey or re:SearchWA, then compare it with the latest order and the live calendar. If systems are down, call the clerk or Court Administration. Lewis County's 2024 emergency order proved the point: when state systems, calendars, dockets, and filed documents go dark, only direct checks with the court still work.

Note: A continuance changes the setting; it does not dismiss the Lewis County case or erase prior events.

Lewis County Daily Docket Archive

The Prosecutor archive posts Felony Daily Docket and District Court Daily Docket PDFs. A single sheet lists a lot. It can show the court, judge, courtroom, time block, cause or citation number, event, counsel fields, custody category, and comments. It confirms a day's docket call. It is not the full case record. The official daily archive illustrates the post search and dated listings.

If an archive PDF and Odyssey disagree, trust the newest case order and confirm with the court directly. A PDF can sit online long after the court changes that day's call.

Lewis County Remote Appearance Rules

Remote access depends on the type of hearing. Lewis Superior Court requires in-person appearance for Thursday arraignment and trial-setting hearings and for trial confirmations. Omnibus hearings and some reviews may run on Webex. Friday civil participants are encouraged to appear by video. Juvenile and protection-order links may be withheld, needing Court Administration approval. The Superior Court appearance page spells out its event-specific Webex and backup Zoom rules.

District Court tells a different story: video appearances there ended effective February 1, 2024. An old Lewis County link never guarantees that remote appearance is still allowed.

Missed Settings and What Comes Next

Call the Lewis County court that held the setting right away. Have the case or citation number ready. Ask the clerk what the docket shows now, since a judge may have set a new date, entered a judgment, or taken some other step after the missed hearing. A general state index will not answer that question.

Missed Lewis County setting: A missed date may lead to a warrant, judgment, added fee, or other order depending on the case. Only the court of record can state the current result and proper next step.

Where you call depends on the case. Superior matters belong to the Clerk or Court Administration. District and municipal cases belong to the named limited-jurisdiction court. Juvenile, family, and protection-order settings may be protected, so the public docket can hide details and direct contact matters most. Write down the call. Note the staff office you reached and any new Lewis County court date they give you. Then watch for a fresh notice or docket event confirming it. If you have an attorney, tell them about the missed setting at once and follow their direction. Court staff can report what the record says. But they cannot replace a motion or other step the judge may require. And if the missed event was a city citation, confirm the municipal venue first. Lewis District Court may not hold that file.
